Black Olive Tree 5"

$80.00

This plant is known for its elegant silhouette and dark, leathery foliage. It adds a touch of Mediterranean charm to any landscape. Find care instructions below:

Light: The Black Olive needs lots of bright sunlight. If you’re growing it indoors, keep it near a window that gets a lot of sunshine. But ensure that the leaves don’t touch the window as the contact heat can burn it. The ideal temperature for the tree is above 64°F. Temperatures below 40°F could kill your plant.

Water: Though it likes water, the olive is a drought-resistant plant. It is very easy to over-water olive plants in pots. So make sure the soil is dry before you water it. Don’t let the roots sit in water if you’re growing it in a pot.

Repot:

1. The olive tree is carefully placed on its side
2. Release root ball from the pot by simultaneously twisting and pulling it
3. Remove dead fine roots
4. Remove moss and weeds from the root disc
5. Lay out drainage layer on the bottom of the new pot
6. Fill 20-30% of the new pot with soil and lightly press down
7. Place the olive tree on top and into the new pot
8. Straighten the trunk; fill the spaces between the pot and the root ball with soil
9. Press earth firmly
10. Water well
